This plan provides reinforcing schedules for any horizontal dimension of rectangular tank. As well, designs are provided for the following depths of tank: 2450 mm (8'), 3050 mm (10') and 3650 mm (12'). If it is necessary to choose a tank that fits between these depths, the design information indicated for the next depth of tank should be used. In a rectangular tank with buttressed walls, the principal reinforcing is horizontal. The wall is supported by concrete buttresses spaced 3650-5500 mm (12-18 ft) apart. Each buttress has a footing system that is designed to transfer loads to the surrounding soil.
