The CPS Information Resource focuses on
the following areas:
- Farm Structures and their Environments
- Waste Handling and Storage
- Animal Care and Comfort
- Crop Handling, Storage, Processing and
Conditioning
- Rural Environment
- Systems Engineering
The primary objectives of the CPS are to identify
needs, to develop information and to transfer technology
related to farm structures and integrated systems.
- Needs Identification
To identify through liaison with key stakeholders:
- the need for information packages;
- functional and structural problems; and
- priorities for research, development and
evaluation.
- Information Development
To prepare and maintain information related to
farm structures through the development of:
- plans and leaflets and design aids;
- planning and management recommendations;
and
- standardized design methods and
procedures.
- Technology Transfer
To transfer farm structures technology by
utilizing the CPS network:
- to exchange information among
researchers, industry contacts, and all
provincial/territory extension services;
- to develop and maintain an Internet
information resource;
- to distribute the information packages
developed; and
- to promote the adoption of leading-edge
agriculture and food technologies.
