This plan gives details for a two-way swing farm gate framed with 38 x 140 mm (2 x 6 in.) lumber. Construction is sturdy enough for openings up to 4800 mm (16 ft) wide into cattle feedlots, farm entrances, etc. Heavy gates will sag unless they are well-supported. This plan specifies three special gate hinges, for extra support.
